Minisforum first to announce AMD Hawk Point powered product
AMD is likely to announce its Ryzen 8000 series at the beginning of next year.
An upcoming 2-in-1 tablet/laptop hybrid known as the Minisforum V3 is set to include an AMD Hawk Point processor with a TDP configuration ranging from 22 to 28W, according to a recent press release from the company.
The new tablet is expected to come equipped with 6400 MT/s memory, likely adhering to DDR5 standards. While the company’s provided specification list lacks some details, it has been confirmed that the device will be enclosed within a 14-inch chassis. Notably, the system will boast a QHD+ screen with a remarkable 165Hz refresh rate, which is quite an impressive feature for a tablet.

In terms of audio, the system will feature a quad-speaker setup, along with a 2MP front camera and a 5MP rear camera. Additionally, it will be powered by a 50Wh battery and offer support for Windows Hello authentication through a fingerprint and camera setup.

Regarding the Hawk Point series itself, it’s expected to feature the Zen4 CPU architecture and RDNA3 graphics. Essentially, the Hawk Point series appears to be a rebranding of the Phoenix series. The CPU options for this tablet will likely fall within the 28 to 54W TDP range, although it seems that this particular tablet is configured at the lower end of that spectrum.

Minisforum has not officially announced the release date for the new device, but all indications point to it being unveiled as part of the Ryzen 8000 series reveal next year. It’s worth noting that companies typically refrain from confirming products that haven’t yet been officially announced by the manufacturer, usually opting for more generic terms like “next-gen architecture.” However, in this case, the architecture in question is not entirely new.
