HONG KONG -- Country Garden Holdings, a private real estate developer at the center of China's property sector crisis, said Wednesday that it is unable to fulfill all of its offshore debt obligations .

The distressed Chinese developer issued a statement via email saying, "The company is incapable of meeting all the repayment obligations of its external debt items in time."
