TOKYO -- Advanced machine tools made by Japanese manufacturers were found at a Chinese research facility that is responsible for developing nuclear weapons.

Machine tools are subject to export controls because they could be used to manufacture weapons of mass destruction. However, an investigation by Nikkei revealed that products from Japan and Germany were being delivered to the nuclear weapons development organization through biddings inside China.
