Japan's Isuzu eyes new business with battery-swapping EV truck

TOKYO -- Japan's Isuzu Motors is exploring a new business based on electric trucks that would run on replaceable batteries, which the company says will make deliveries more efficient, Nikkei has learned. Long recharging times are one obstacle to the takeup of electric trucks.

The truck maker has also developed its own unmanned stations where robots remove discharged batteries and replace them with charged ones in about three minutes.
