TOKYO -- Japan's exports grew 1.6% in October from a year ago, marking the second straight month of increase according to preliminary data released Thursday by the Finance Ministry.

The figures revealed that Japan's exports were at 9.14 trillion yen ($60 billion), while imports were 9.8 trillion yen, resulting in a trade deficit of 662 billion yen.
