SAN FRANCISCO -- U.S. President Joe Biden and Chinese leader Xi Jinping met for about four hours on Wednesday in California, agreeing to establish dialogue mechanisms for artificial intelligence, anti-drug cooperation and military affairs.

On Taiwan, Xi called it the "most important and sensitive" issue in U.S.-China relations. While China values the comments made by the U.S. during last year's meeting in Bali, Indonesia, Xi said Washington should embody its stance of not supporting Taiwan independence in concrete actions, stop arming Taiwan and support China's peaceful reunification, according to a Xinhua readout.
