AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE may soon hit a 600 EUR price in Europe

Radeon RX 7900 GRE drops to 604 EUR

Radeon 7000 pricing looks even better than a few weeks ago.

Gamers in Europe who are eyeing RDNA3 desktop graphics cards may now be tempted to hold off until the inevitable price adjustment for RX 7900 GRE, which is expected now to drop below 600 euros very soon. Despite the limited involvement of board partners in the initial launch, it is now widely available through various retailers across Europe. Additionally, some of these retailers have once again reduced the price for this SKU.

The Radeon RX 7900 GRE is not officially a DIY card , at least not outside China. But AMD didn’t try to stop board partners and system integrators from selling these cards to gamers without having to buy a whole system. As a result, the price has progressively been going down, and it may soon break the 600 EUR barrier.

The RX 7900 GRE pricing in Europe has been on a steady decline since launch. The first offers on the DIY market were around €720 EUR , which was in October. The card has quickly dropped to €617 earlier this month, but we have just found the same card for just €604/606. The cheapest offer for XFX reference design can be found in Latvia, where a retailer is now offering the card at €603.88.

Radeon RX 7000 Series (lowest price according to Geizhals):

  • Radeon RX 7900 XTX: €966.99 ASROCK PG OC
  • Radeon RX 7900 XT: €809.99 XFX MERC 310
  • Radeon RX 7900 GRE: €603.88 XFX
  • Radeon RX 7800 XT: €529.00 XFX QICK 319
  • Radeon RX 7700 XT: €443.45 SAPPHIRE PULSE

The RX 7900 GRE is currently priced just €70 higher than the RX 7800 XT. Despite both cards having the same memory configuration, the GRE model boasts 33% more cores. It’s important to note that this increase in cores doesn’t directly translate to a 33% higher performance boost, as the 7900 GRE is significantly power-limited. In real-world gaming scenarios, the performance difference is smaller. However, both cards are capable of being overclocked and optimized for an enhanced gaming experience, making the GRE an interesting alternative.

The decreasing prices of the RX 7000 series in Europe could be attributed to shifts in the USD/EUR exchange rates. If this trend persists, there’s a strong possibility of the RX 7900 GRE being priced below 600 EUR very soon. Notably, all Radeon 7000 models are gradually becoming more inexpensive, with most SKUs witnessing a price drop of 20-30 EUR since our last update.

Another factor for the price cuts is the imminent launch of the GeForce RTX 40 SUPER cards scheduled for January. This means that the Radeon 7900/7800 cards will face increased competition with the introduction of additional SKUs from NVIDIA.
