AYANEO goes retro with Apple Macintosh inspired Mini-PC
Powered by AMD Ryzen 3 3200U or Ryzen 7 5700U.

AYANEO is introducing the first personal computer as part of their Mini PC 2.0 initiative. This is one of the initial small form factor systems from this company that is not solely intended for gaming purposes.
The AM01 Retro Mini-PC powered by AMD Ryzen hardware. This system is inspired by the Apple Macintosh personal computer, but it is much smaller and much faster than the ‘original’ 1984 product. The PC will be available in two versions, either with Ryzen 3 3200U or Ryzen 5 5700U. Both support only DDR4 memory, but the maximum capacity depends on the APU (it’s either 32GB for 3200U or 64GB for 5700U).

- Exquisite Retro Design
- Up to AMD Ryzen™ 7 5700U Option
- Personalizable and Interchangeable Magnetic Decorative Elements

The 14 nm Ryzen 3 3200U and Ryzen 7 5700U 7 nm APUs offer vastly different configurations of either 2 core/4 thread configuration or 8 core and 16 threads (Zen3). The first APU now has a bit ancient Vega 3 graphics architecture, while the 5700U offers modern RDNA2 with 8CUs.

The main board is equipped with one M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 interface for high-speed storage. There is also one SATA interface which supports traditional 2.5 inch storage. Both systems have integrated connectivity of Wi-Fi 6 or 5 depending on APU. What is the same on both versions is support for USB 3.1 Type-C and three USB 3.2 Gen2. Worth noting that Type-C does not support display connectivity, only data transfer. But there is one HDMI 2.0 and one DisplayPort 1.4 available for that purposes. The APUs are cooled down by one fan designed for 35W TDP. There are four copper heat pipes and an aluminum heat sink with an area of 60008 mm. 2

The company commits to supporting Windows, Ubuntu, Debian and various Linux distributions. Furthermore, the AM01 is also compatible with various gaming systems such as Steam OS, Batocera and Chimera OS. The system does not actually have to be a Mini gaming console, but also a router or NAS storage, both options equally promoted by AYANEO.

Pricing starts at $149 for barebone 3200U powered system with $219 price for 16GB memory & 512GB storage config. Those are early bird prices for crowdfunding platform. The 5700U system will cost $219 with 8GB/256GB version going for at least $269.
Since this is a crowdfunded product that has not yet been tested, we advise against taking part in this launch. Nothing should’ve prevented AYANEO from providing samples to media outlets for review before introducing this product.
