Introduction

The ASUS TUF range of products isn't only TUF by name, but it speaks to the intent of the design.

Here, in RTX 3070 format it has an aluminium surround, with three fans that go in opposing directions to minimise turbulence and hopefully provide better cooling performance. Certainly if it is as cool as the RTX 3060 Ti TUF that we've just reviewed then it will already find favour with those of you who want the maximum headroom. Beneath that shroud are high end power components to ensure the smoothest delivery and hopefully beefy boost clocks, as well as give us the longevity we crave.

So far the Ampere range of cards from Nvidia have proven to be a roaring success whether you're going with the RTX 3060 Ti or busting the budget with the RTX 3090. The star of the show, in our opinion, is this RTX 3070 though. It has the sweet spot between price and performance and is capable of running anything you care to name with the detail at maximum at all but 4K, and even there you don't need much adjustment to the settings to hit 60 FPS.

Let's run our eye over the specifications before the all important look at the ASUS TUF in the flesh, and then our benchmark suite.
