BANGKOK -- The Constitutional Court of Thailand on Wednesday ruled in favor of Pita Limjaroenrat, rejecting a complaint that would have disqualified the former Move Forward Party leader from serving as a member of parliament over holdings in a company that used to run a television station.
Thailand's Constitution bans any person holding shares "in any newspaper or mass media business" from standing for election to the House of Representatives. The court found that ITV Public Co., the company in question, has not run a media business since it ceased operations in 2007.
