Pakistan elections: 5 people poised to shape the country's future

KARACHI -- Pakistan is gearing up for elections scheduled for Feb. 8, after nearly two years of political upheaval following the no-confidence vote that ousted former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Khan, a cricket superstar turned populist firebrand, is still widely considered the country's most popular political figure. But he is currently jailed on corruption allegations -- which he denies -- and barred from contesting the elections. That leaves the field to other leaders.
