Founder of Indian edtech venture Byju's faces expulsion

BENGALURU -- A group of investors in Indian education startup Byju's has called for an extraordinary general meeting to oust founder and CEO Byju Raveendran, alleging mismanagement and lack of corporate governance.

"The resolutions being put forward for the [extraordinary general meeting] to consider include a request for the resolution of the outstanding governance, financial mismanagement and compliance issues, the reconstitution of the board of directors, so that it is no longer controlled by the founders of T&L [Think and Learn, Byju's parent company], and a change in leadership of the company," the investors said in a statement on Thursday.
