Intel Core i9-14900KS already listed in France
The flagship LGA-1700 desktop CPU costs at least €752 (with VAT).

It appears that the information provided by Benchlife regarding the potential mid-March launch of the Core i9-14900KS might not be accurate. Hardware detective @momomo_us has discovered a listing suggesting that Intel could be already dispatching stocks to retailers.
French retailer PC21 has taken a step ahead by putting two variants of the processor up for sale, either in a boxed package or as a tray option. The latter is typically intended for integrators or OEMs, but interestingly, these versions always find their way into the retail channel, even before launch. This offers a more cost-effective option for users who don’t require fancy packaging or bundled coolers, making it a budget-friendly choice for the new CPU.

The listing shows that the boxed i9-14900KS model costs €640 without VAT and €768 with VAT. Meanwhile, the tray option for the CPU comes in at €627 without VAT and €752 with VAT. A quick comparison with the i9-14900K pricing in France suggests that the KS variant is approximately €146 pricier. Unfortunately, the retailer displaying 14900KS model variants does not have the price for 14900K listed, which would be better suited for comparison.

The i9-14900KS is the third ‘special edition’ SKU designed for the LGA-1700 socket. Similar to the i9-13900KS, this processor will boast an equivalent number of cores, which is 24, but with a small 200 MHz increase in the boost clock. This frequency applies to up to 2 cores.
Intel KS SKUs for LGA1700 platform:
- Core i9-12900KS : 16-cores, up to 5.5 GHz (launched in April 2022)
- Core i9-13900KS: 24-cores up to 6.0 GHz (launched in January 2023)
- Core i9-14900KS : 24-cores, up to 6.2 GHz (soon?)
This should also be the last KS variant and the last flagship for this socket, as Intel is moving to the LGA-1851 platform by the end of this year.
