Because 400W PSU is not enough
EuroCom high-power AC adapter with detachable cables now supports TITAN 18HX.
The 780W AC from EuroCom is a high-power power supply for the most high-end systems offered by this company. EuroCom worked on adding more options for users to switch DC cables, enabling support for a wider range of laptops. Worth noting that this adapter is not a new product, on a contrary, it was released 7 years ago. But the company continues to support it by adding more DC adapter options.
But why is there even a 780W adapter available? EuroCom is actually better known for desktop-class mobile workstations that have very high-power requirements. Some modern portable workstations even use desktop CPUs, which means that once we add a discrete GPU into the mix, the standard 300-400W laptop power supply may simply be not enough. The 780W adapter is the answer to that.

EuroCom has now developed a high-power DC adapter for MSI TITAN 18HX. This is a new flagship laptop powered by Core i9-14900HX and RTX 4090 Laptop GPU, which by default comes with a 400W power supply. Although it is not specifically targeted at MSI laptops, the company claims that insufficient adapter may lead to unexpected shutdowns during intense gaming sessions. We have not heard such reports about TITAN 18HX.

The 780W adapter’s main advantage is its relatively small size (10 × 32.5 × 4 cm) and weight of 1.38 kg, which is supposedly ‘travel-friendly’. What is not friendly is the price, with the adapter costing $299 alone and the DC cable will require an additional $129 .
According to the press release, the 780W AC adapter now supports the following laptops: MSI TITAN 18HX 🆕, GE76 Raider, GT76, GT77, CLEVO X170SM/KM, OriginPC, Sager and MSI laptop with4-pin round plug, CLEVO X370SNX, Alienware AREA 51m through a splitter box, Dell Precision 7720/7710, ASUS ROG GX501V GM501 GM501GM GX531GM and ASUS G703GX through splitter box.
The Adapter has two built-in fans, and a screen showing the voltage, current and power. Unfortunately, there is no RGB lighting (/s).
