Interesting news from China as Colorful, the company behind the Colorfire brand, has officially announced their upcoming gaming laptop featuring an AMD CPU. What makes this information particularly exciting is that Colorfire used to represent Colorful’s AMD graphics card line, which was abandoned for a while. Now, the company is resurrecting the series for unconventional projects like the MEOW GPU series .

It looks like Colorful’s collaboration with AMD will continue, and the latest venture is the introduction of the MEOW gaming laptop. The company teased the laptop on social media, with the official announcement scheduled for February 23rd. It clearly states “AMD AI PC” and “GeForce RTX 40”. Chinese media expect this to be a new AMD Ryzen 8040 laptop.

So what sets this gaming laptop apart from the existing portfolio of Colorful laptops is that it will run on AMD hardware while incorporating GeForce RTX 40 graphics. An interesting move for Colorful, considering the company only entered the laptop market a few years ago with Intel 10th Gen Core series and that they only made Intel laptops for now.

ITHome reports that the MEOW laptops, named MEOW R15 24 and MEOW R16 24 , are already making rounds in certification offices. Presumably, these laptops will come in 15 and 16-inch variants, equipped with 180W and 230W power supplies, indicating the inclusion of mid-range GPUs like the RTX 4060/4070 series. Expect more news on February 23rd.
