AMD FSR3 is now available for Starfield
Hopefully, our last report regarding upscaling technology support for this game.

Bethesda dropped Starfield in September last year, grabbing the attention of many gamers. The game initially drew in over 330K players at its all-time peak 5 months ago. However, the buzz has waned significantly since then, with a daily concurrent player count now resting at 9K.
Earlier in June, AMD revealed plans to be the exclusive PC launch partner for Starfield, pledging optimized hardware support from the game’s launch. Unfortunately, AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 (FSR3) technology wasn’t ready for the release. FSR3-enabled games only started surfacing in late September 2023, leaving Starfield with FSR2 support initially.
Despite this setback, there was anticipation for FSR3 integration into the game. Expectations soared when Bethesda introduced DLSS with Frame Generation support in November. However, it took an additional three months for FSR3 to finally make its way into the beta version.
As of today, both FSR3 and Intel XeSS support have exited beta, making these technologies available to gamers on all platforms (excluding DLSS, exclusive to GeForce RTX GPUs).
Starfield Update 1.9.67
- GRAPHICS
- Added support for AMD FidelityFX TM Super Resolution 3 (FSR 3). (PC)
- Added support for Intel Xe Super Sampling (XeSS). (PC)
- Fixed an issue that could make the clouds appear to vibrate when using DLSS performance mode. (PC)
- Fixed minor visual artifact that could occur when aiming with a weapon or task swapping.
- STABILITY
- Changed how FormIDs are freed when loading saves. This should improve stability for saves that have visited many locations.
- Fixed a crash that could happen when making changes to the ship that required all items to be moved to the cargo bay in the Ship Builder menu.
- MISCELLANEOUS
- Reverted a change that caused the data menu to open when taking screenshots with F12 (PC)
- Fixed an issue causing the resolution scale to reset to 1.0 when switching from Fullscreen to Windowed mode when using DLSS. (PC)
It’s great to see that FSR3 is finally picking up steam, but it also feels like it missed out on the chance to launch alongside Starfield a long time ago.
