Cyberpunk 2077 to receive bug fixes soon, unsatisfied customers encouraged to opt for refunds
CD Projekt Red has finally made a public statement on the current situation regarding its just-released Cyberpunk 2077, easily the most anticipated game of this year. Since the game launched last week, social media platforms are filled with either unsatisfied customers or people admiring the graphics of the next-generation title.
The biggest issues are with the last-gen gaming consoles, which are simply unplayable in the current state. The graphics lowering to PS3-era quality, constant texture loading, or Minecraft-looking characters are certainly not a pleasant thing to see, such problems can easily distract you from the main storyline. Even more so, when the 2013 open-world game GTA V looks a lot better and has a lot better AI algorithms for NPCs or traffic, people are starting to wonder why there were delays for Cyberpunk 2077 release in the first place. Obviously, no one expected AMD Jaguar-based SoC in XBOX One X and Playstation 4 to perform like mid-range desktop GPUs, yet no one forced CDPR to launch the game on those platforms.
The company today announced it will provide fixes for all platforms, which should start rolling out in a week, with bigger patches coming in January and February. Those patches will include graphics improvement for PS4 and XBOX X consoles, but it will not make the game ‘look like it’s running on high-spec PC or next-gen console’.
The company will also improve the PC version of the game, regular updates and fixes will be rolling out through the platforms such as GOG or Steam.
