AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D at $401

The 12-core Ryzen CPU with 3D V-Cache now has the lowest per-core price.

AMD moved swiftly to adjust the pricing of its Ryzen 7000 and follow-up 7000X3D CPUs. The latter, hitting the market a few months after the initial desktop lineup, faced strong competition from Intel, even more so after the introduction of 14th Gen Core K-series late last year. The days of seeing official AMD MSRPs are over, but with the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, now considered the top AMD gaming CPU at sub $350 pricing , the company boasts a solid lineup.

Currently, AMD is placing emphasis on their 12-core model, which saw a $60 price adjustment just two weeks ago. The pricing for this model has shifted again, now standing at $401. At this pace, one should expect a sub $400 price for this SKU very soon.

Although the 7900X3D might not be the optimal pick for gamers, with the 7800X3D offering better value, the 7900X3D stands out as the top X3D SKU in terms of per-core pricing. Breaking it down, each core in the 7800X3D comes at a cost of $43.6, while the 16-core 7950X3D boasts a value of $37.2 per core. The 12-core model comes in at just $33.4 per core.

This won’t be the final price adjustment for AMD Ryzen 7000 CPUs. At the moment, both Intel and AMD aren’t gearing up for any significant desktop CPU launches until later this year.
