Finding a real gem: AOOSTAR GEM12 Pro with Ryzen 7 8845HS
There is no perfect Mini-PC, but the AOOSTAR GEM12 Pro is very close.

This small form factor PC ticks all the boxes: newest APU, built-in screen, OCulink support, fingerprint scanner and highly efficient cooling. The Gem12 Pro comes with the newest AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS processor, which is indeed not a new architecture, but at least it comes with the AMD XDNA AI-core boost as found in the Hawk Point series. It’s an 8-core Zen4 processor with 5.1 GHz max CPU clock and built-in Radeon 780M graphics based on RDNA3 architecture.

The company claims they developed efficient cooling based on vapor chamber design that enables up to 75W of power . However, it is not stated whether that’s the maximum TDP setting or rather what the cooler is capable of taking care of. Nevertheless, we have already seen Phoenix APUs in Mini-PC that offer 54W and even 65W TDP, so this wouldn’t be at all surprising.
Worth adding that the system has a built-in fingerprint scanner, a convenient feature for those who do not like passwords or cameras for logging in. Another feature is USB4 support as well as full OCulink that exposes PCIe Gen4x4 connector for external GPUs. Alternatively, users may choose to add up to 2 PCIe Gen4x4 SSDs in 2280 form factor. The system supports DDR5-5600 memory.

Worth noting that the company is already selling a different Mini-PC based on Ryzen 7 8845HS Mini-PC on Amazon (affiliate link), where it costs $619. However, the pricing for the Gem12 Pro has not yet been confirmed for international buyers. In China, the system is listed at 2699 RMB which is around $375, and it comes in a barebone state.
The Gem12 Pro is also available with Ryzen 7 7840HS and Ryzen 9 6900HX APUs, which are cheaper options, but not all configurations support faster memory.
