In case there was any doubt about our leak for i9-14900KS release date, retailers are confirming this fact with the very first official preorders. The CPU has been listed by Asian retailers, as well as some located in France and Canada. We collected these new offers and combined with leaks that we are already aware of.
It appears that the KS “Special Edition” variant is set to cost 19 to 30% more than the K variant. Pricing varies depending on the size of the retailer, where the offer was placed and the region it is being sold.

Interestingly, some retailers confirm to have these in stock and will ship upon placing the order. Others only confirm that the 14900KS will launch on March 14 or only claim they are up for preorder. Historically speaking, there was never really a problem of supply of KS processors even after launch, so do yourself a favor and just wait for launch offers, which should be even better.

The i9-14900KS will feature 24 cores, just as many as the 14900K. The difference lies in the binning process, where Intel has selected the best SKUs for the higher-clocked variant, now set to reach 6.2 GHz clock. To achieve that, Intel had to put higher TDP (base power) to 150W. Earlier leaks have shown that under full load, the CPU can easily surpass 400W. Make sure to equip your system with proper cooling.
