MSI is ready to overclock Core i9-14900KS
MSI motherboards are to feature 6.4 GHz clock OC profile for the new CPU.

Tomorrow, Intel will unveil its i9-14900KS processor. This is yet another 24-core CPU part of the desktop K-series lineup, but featuring the industry’s first 6.2 GHz clock out of the box. This clock will apply to two cores under load, unless users overclock the CPU to maintain higher clocks on more cores.
MSI has an idea how to boost i9-14900KS even higher, up to 6.4 GHz shows the leak. The company has put several OC profiles as part of the 6GHz+ options into their BIOS. Once the firmware is updated and i9-14900KS is discovered in the system, new options will be shown including 6.4/5.8 GHz and even 6.4/5.9 GHz where the first figure refers to the Thermal Velocity Boost and the other is Turbo Boost Max 3.0.

As reported earlier, this SKU now has a released date set for March 14. The fact that this part is coming is now not a surprise, considering Intel has been releasing these “KS – Special Edition” models for 3 years already. This is a third installment and the last to support the LGA-1700 socket, it is said.
The packaging you see above is indeed the real box for i9-14900KS processors. Just like its predecessors, the i9-14900K/F, it won’t come with a cooler in the package. This KS SKUs require a hefty 253 watts of thermal power dissipation, usually only achievable with liquid coolers. What’s more, the i9-14900KS has a higher TDP than the K-series, bumping up to 150 watts, with the exact MTP (Maximum Turbo Power) yet to be set.
