Intel Core i9-11900 Engineering Sample in CPU-Z
An engineering sample of the Rocket Lake-S Core processor has been tested with CPU-Z software, according to a leak from @9550pro who is quoting a message posted on Alibaba’s Xianyu platform.
This sample is clearly not the final product, hence their clock speed may not correspond to the retail unit that will go on sale next year. This unit of Core i9-11900 ES is the 8-core and 16-thread processor that carries a 1.8 GHz base clock, 3.8 GHz multi-core turbo, and 4.4 GHz single-core turbo frequency. However, we do not know if the highest frequency corresponds to the speed of the Thermal Velocity Boost or rather Turbo Boost Max 3.0 frequency. The former technology should also be supported on this Core i9 SKU.
The processor has been tested on MSI Z490I (UNIFY?) motherboard, which is a Mini-ITX form factor board with LGA1200 socket that both the 11th Gen Core and 10th Gen Core processors series support. According to the message posted by the leaker, the current BIOS does not support integrated Xe Graphics, which are a new feature for Rocket Lake-S processors.

The processors actually appear to have the same QV1J label as the sample pictured yesterday , meaning we might actually be looking at the same processor:

With a score of 582 points in single-threaded built-in benchmark into CPU-Z software, the processor almost matches the Core i9-10900K, that’s according to CPU-Z’s own charts (which for some reason do not list Zen3 CPUs yet). With a multi-thread score of 5262 points, the CPU is actually slower than Core i7-10700, which offers around 5435 points in the same test.
