ACER launches Radeon RX 7900 GRE PREDATOR and NITRO graphics cards

A new high-end Radeon GPUs from Acer.

In January, Acer made headlines by unveiling three new graphics card models: the RX 7800 XT Predator, RX 7700 XT Nitro, and RX 7600 XT Nitro. However, consumers eager to get their hands on these cards have been met with disappointment as none of them have appeared in retail channels yet.

There have been signs that Acer may be ready to release these cards soon. The company’s website has been updated to include the RX 7800 XT model, and there’s also a new addition: the RX 7900 GRE card.

The latest update reveals two models: the Radeon RX 7900 GRE Predator and Nitro. The GRE models are identical to RX 7800 XT cards, in fact Acer is even using the same images. Both of these SKUs share similar power requirements, suggesting they can utilize the same cooling design. Moreover, the Navi 31XL and Navi 32XT chips have comparable package sizes, and their PCBs are likely very similar if not identical due to the use of 16GB VRAM on both models.

The RX 7900 GRE NITRO is based on a dual fan cooling design known as Nitro FrostBlade. Both Predator and NITRO models offered with the same factory increased frequency.  They ship with 2050 MHz game clock and 2395 MHz boost clock, that’s 9% and 7% overclock respectively.

The website is a bit low on details in terms of power specs, but one can assume it needs something around 260W, which is AMD reference specs. The card relies on dual 8-pin power connectors.

Regrettably, neither the Predator nor Nitro models are available for purchase yet. At present, of all the Radeon GPUs Acer announced, only the RX 7600 Predator cards are being sold by the company.
