The Last of Us Part 1 updated to support FSR3
The latest updates for FSR3.
The third generation upscaling as well as frame generation from AMD is now supported by The Last of Us Part 1, which possibly one of the most anticipated updates for this technology ever since it was publicly announced for this game. Still, there are other games that should have been updated to FSR3 by now (think Cyberpunk 2077), but it seems that FSR3 has again hit a slower release path once again.
The opinions of FSR3 in The Last of Us are mixed. According to reviewer and maker of the frame capture analysis tool CapFrameX, once FSR3 is engaged the framerate indeed doubles, but it feels like it’s half of that. In fact, the image quality and smoothness is better with DLSS, it is claimed .
Interestingly, game and graphics technology reviewer Ancient Gameplays claims that the unofficial mod for this game feels smoother than the official implementation.
With this in mind, I can only think of, once again, the 3.03 version of FSR 3 presented by AMD being the issue. I don’t see any other chance since the modded version works well. The same goes for RoboCop, I go with the mod for RoboCop and the mod works perfectly. The game just performs as it should, really really smooth. As soon as we go with the official implementation, the game performs like crap.

These are just opinions, with some suggesting that it feels smoother and is the best implementation of FSR3 yet. For those who already own the game, there’s nothing stopping you from testing it out, even if you don’t have an AMD GPU, as FSR3 is supported by GPUs from NVIDIA and Intel as well.
