The first retail model of LGA-1851 motherboard is not even designed for Arrow Lake.

A recent discovery by hardware detective @momomo_us has uncovered an unreleased datasheet for the IBASE MI1002 motherboard, supposedly designed for the 14th Gen Core Ultra series. Delving deeper into the details, the datasheet reveals that under his enigmatic series moniker lies the Meteor Lake-PS CPU series, which represents a fusion between desktop and mobile products.

Revisiting Intel’s earlier statements, the company initially pledged to introduce Meteor Lake for desktops, only to later clarify that this plan was directed towards Mini-PCs and embedded systems. Also, Intel had originally intended to unveil its new LGA-1851 socket alongside the Meteor Lake-S processor, a plan that was later shelved. Nevertheless, the appearance of the IBASE motherboard hints at the possibility of Intel revisiting the concept of such a product in the future.

The MI1002 motherboard is revealed to be a Mini-ITX board equipped with two DDR5-SODIIM slots. The specifications also highlight support for DisplayPort 2.0, a feature relatively new for Intel products but more commonly seen among GPU and CPUs equipped with Arc Alchemist graphics.

Moreover, @momomo_us’s investigation has uncovered additional ‘industrial/embedded’ systems featuring the Meteor Lake-PS chipset. This suggests that Intel may introduce its first CPUs for this socket ahead of Arrow Lake. However, these processors are anticipated to target specific market niches rather than being full-fledged desktop products, signaling a strategic approach towards catering to distinct industry needs.
