Minisforum reveals liquid-cooled AtomMan Mini-PC with Ryzen 7945HX, 8945HS and Core Ultra CPUs

AtomMan Mini-PCs by Minisforum: featuring Intel, AMD and NVIDIA hardware

Earlier this week, Minisforum held a special news conference where the company released the V3 tablet powered by an AMD Ryzen 8040 CPU. Unfortunately, this tablet falls into an expensive niche market that one can suspect will not generate a lot of sales.

What sets Minisforum apart is its unique position as one of the few companies collaborating with both AMD and Intel, consistently pushing the boundaries of innovation. In other words, they are still making entirely new systems and designs, not just putting new hardware to the same chassis.  During a recent event, the company unveiled as many as four new products. Additionally, they revealed the start of a fresh sub-brand named AtomMan.

  • UM890 WE : AMD RYZEN 9 8945HS
  • HX200G: AMD RYZEN 9 7945HX + RX 7600M XT
  • HN149 : INTEL CORE i9 14900HX + RTX 4070
  • HH185 Ultra : INTEL CORE ULTRA 185H

AtomMan UH185 Ultra: Core Ultra, built-in display and OCulink

This product was initially showcased at CES 2024, but now we have the opportunity to look at it up close. The PC boasts the top-of-the-line Intel Meteor Lake CPU, known as Core Ultra 9 185H, which is the only model in the series with a 45W TDP. This configuration also includes the highest specification of integrated Arc GPU, featuring 8 Xe-Cores clocked up to 2.35 GHz.

A standout feature of this product is its integrated 4-inch screen, capable of displaying real-time specs, clocks, or functioning as a voice assistant. Additionally, the system is equipped with OCulink and 5 Gbit Ethernet, along with the option for WiFi 7 connectivity.

AtomMan UM890WE has water cooling and Ryzen 8945HS Hawk Point APU

Among the AMD-powered offerings are two noteworthy products: UM890WE and HX200G. While the latter has been previously introduced, UM890WE represents a fresh concept with its cubic Mini-PC design. Running on an AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS processor, boasting a 45W TDP, this system breaks away from the standard Mini-PC size with its 3.5-liter capacity chassis.

What truly stands out is the inclusion of a custom water-cooling system, a rarity in the realm of Mini-PCs. It’s intriguing why the company opted for such a cooling solution, especially considering that even a single-fan design would suffice to cool down this APU.

The system boasts dual 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports and is also furnished with OCulink connectivity. Users have the option to connect up to two USB 4 devices, HDMI 2.1, and DP 1.4 monitors, while also having the capability to install up to 64GB of DDR5-5600 memory.

As for the release date, Minisforum has yet to confirm this information.

AtomMan Atom HX200G: high-end gaming PC with Ryzen 9 7945HX and Radeon RX 7600M XT

The HX200G, although not a new product, has been reintroduced under the new AtomMan brand. This PC is equipped with AMD’s top-tier Ryzen 9 processor for laptops: the Ryzen 9 7945HX, boasting 16 Zen4 cores, paired with the Radeon RX 7600M XT, an entry-level discrete GPU powered by RDNA3 architecture. We did ask if there is a plan to bring 7945HX3D version, but we are yet to receive a response.

The HX 200G features an advanced cooling system, featuring 8 heat pipes and utilizing liquid metal for both the CPU and GPU. Being based on the “Dragon Range” AMD platform, the HX200G supports PCIe Gen5 SSDs and DDR5 memory. Minisforum has announced that preorders for this PC will commence on May 20th.

Another product showcased is the HN149 system, apparently still considered a Mini-PC. In reality, it’s a very slim system (396.5×236.4×32.5mm) resembling a laptop without a screen. Beneath this unique design, the company integrated high-end hardware, including the Core i9-14900HX (the 24-core version) and an RTX 4070 Laptop GPU operating at up to 170W TGP. The system’s cooling is designed to handle up to 180W of power, indicating the GPU likely uses 140W TGP and 30W Dynamic Boost, shared with the CPU. The PC comes with a 280W power supply.

The HN149 supports up to 96GB of DDR5-5600 memory and can accommodate up to two PCIe Gen4 SSDs (4TB capacity). In terms of connectivity, it offers 1 Gigabit Ethernet port, 1 USB 4, HDMI 2.1, and an SD card reader. Users will also have access to a WiFi7 network card.

Preorders for this system are set to begin on May 20th, with no price information available at this time.
