Intel Arc Xe2-HPG “Battlemage” BMG-G21 and G10 GPUs spotted in shipping manifests

Intel Battlemage G21 and G10 GPUs preparing for launch

Despite numerous press events in recent months, Intel has remained tight-lipped regarding updates to Battlemage, their upcoming next-generation discrete GPU architecture. When questioned directly, Intel employees confirm that the company is actively involved in software development, although the next-gen GPUs themselves have reportedly been in the labs since at least August of last year .

The Battlemage GPU series has been confirmed to include at least one GPU processor: the G21, which was observed during a tour at Intel labs. However, rumors have also been circulating regarding the existence of G10 and G31 GPUs as well. Recent shipping manifests have surfaced, indicating that at least one of these rumored GPUs, the G10, has been confirmed, too:

The existence of the G10 and G21 processors may not come as a complete surprise, as an unofficial roadmap leaked last year did mention both of these processors. The G21 is supposedly a high-end version with TDP below 225W, while the G10 is said to be a mid-range SKU with TDP below 150W. In that sense, those are direct replacements to ACM-G10 and G11, respectively.

With rumors circulating that NVIDIA might launch its Blackwell RTX 50 series as early as this year, Intel runs the risk of once again unveiling its new GPU series, Battlemage, too late. While the performance is anticipated to be significantly improved, with even faster ray tracing acceleration, the timing of the Battlemage release could either be its biggest advantage or disadvantage, depending on when Intel is prepared to launch it.

Many of GPU enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for updates on Battlemage, and there are several opportunities for Intel to provide them in the coming months. With the Vision 2024 event scheduled for early April and a Computex keynote planned for early June, there are many chances for Intel to at least mention the progress and status of Battlemage.
