AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT is now available for $479

Radeon RX 7800 XT finally below $480

ASRock has lowered the price of its Challenger GPU.

The Radeon RX 7700 XT recently saw a price reduction, which was well received by gamers. However, AMD seemingly overlooked adjusting the pricing for its RX 7800 XT model.  Perhaps AMD felt no pressure given that the 7800 XT was selling extremely well, at least compared to the cut-down 7700 XT model.

The RX 7800 XT was already seen at $480 a few weeks ago, but this price didn’t stick around for long. It turns out ASRock, a company that typically leads in lowering prices for Radeon GPUs, has been able to lower the margins to meet the $480 price.

Currently, two large retailers offer the same dual-fan Challenger model at $479.99, with both retailers offering $10 discounts applicable during checkout.  This is still the lowest price for this model to date.

ASRock offers two other models: the Steel Legend and Phantom Gaming, both featuring triple-fan designs. The Challenger model clearly isn’t the best in the lineup, but it isn’t pretending to be, as it doesn’t even have factory overclocking.

The RX 7800 XT is equipped with a full Navi 32 GPU and 16GB VRAM, an upgrade over the 12GB on the RX 7700 XT SKU. The latter is now commonly seen at a $419 price, so the gap between both models has clearly widened.
