The cheapest desktop Zen4 processor is now $179

AMD now has more options for budet-oriented gamers.

AMD has expanded its AM5 lineup two months ago with the release of Ryzen 8000G, offering more options for budget-conscious gamers. This move comes over a year after the introduction of the AM5 platform. However, the timing aligns well with the availability of AM5 motherboards and DDR5 memory at more affordable prices.

As a result of these releases, AMD Ryzen 7000 CPUs are expected to see price reductions. Furthermore, in the coming months, as AMD is set to unveil its Ryzen 9000 series, featuring the Zen5 architecture. This release is likely to drive down prices for the Zen4 series even further.

Among the first CPUs to be impacted by these price adjustments are entry-level models, such as the 6-core Ryzen 5 7600 series. The $179 price is the lowest price for this processor on Amazon since it was released 544 days ago. The CPU launched at $299 on September 22, 2022.

Currently, the Ryzen 5 7600X is priced at $179, marking the lowest price yet for this processor. Surprisingly, this makes the CPU $20 cheaper than the Ryzen 5 7600 non-X variant, despite having similar core configurations but lower clocks. It’s worth noting that the non-X version was recently spotted at $189, sold by a different retailer.

Furthermore, the Ryzen 5 7600X is now available at the same price as the Ryzen 5 8500G, the Hawk Point APU featuring 2 Zen4 and 4 Zen4c cores. However, for systems equipped with discrete GPUs, the 7600X offers superior gaming performance, making it the clear choice in this price range.
