WASHINGTON -- The first-ever trilateral summit among the U.S., Japan and the Philippines was held at the White House on Thursday, with all three leaders signaling that many more meetings would follow in the years to come.

"A great deal of history in our world will be written in the Indo-Pacific in the coming years," U.S. President Joe Biden said at the start of the meeting, noting that the three nations will be writing that story together.
