HOUSTON, Texas -- Japanese trading houses Mitsui & Co. and Mitsubishi Corp. will work with U.S.-based Sempra Infrastructure to sell liquefied natural gas made via a process that generates up to 90% less carbon dioxide, Nikkei has learned.
The partnership, which will also include other companies, looks to begin production around 2029 at a major LNG facility in Louisiana. The plant will produce 6.75 million tonnes of LNG annually via this process, equivalent to around 10% of Japan's annual demand.
