Japan studies Israel's air defense success with eye on Indo-Pacific

WASHINGTON -- Japanese defense officials have told Nikkei Asia that they watched how Israel fended off 99% of incoming Iranian projectiles last weekend and are simulating how it may apply to the Indo-Pacific.

Iran's unprecedented raining of over 300 missiles and drones on Israel came just three days after U.S. President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced a new trilateral air defense network with Australia.
