MSI Claw gaming handheld already gets 25% price cut in the UK

MSI Claw is 200 pounds cheaper in the UK

Just as expected, MSI Claw gets first major price cut.

The MSI Claw launch was not successful; on the contrary, the company did everything possible to keep the product launch as low-profile as possible. There was no official review embargo, and the launch was staggered across different regions, allowing gamers to see the product very early with many issues, which didn’t leave a good impression.

Even the latest reviews tend to emphasize that the Claw is not a bad product, but its pricing is an issue. The company has priced its first handheld higher than the ASUS ROG Ally or the Lenovo Legion Go at launch. The problem is that both of these consoles are often available for less already, and they are still much faster in gaming. The only model that was priced similarly was the Core Ultra 5 135H model, which doesn’t even have the full GPU specs like the 155H.

Now, the first retailer in the UK, Curry’s, has lowered the price of the Core Ultra 7 155H version to £599, which is £200 or 25% cheaper than at launch. That’s a massive price cut for the flagship version featuring the best Core SKU and 1TB of storage.

This price change seems to be limited to the UK for now, but the official US store has already lowered the price for the Core Ultra 5 135H model to $649. It’s worth reminding that this product is hardly two months old at this point, so the price cut arrived much faster than expected. However, it may be a necessity.

In the latest review from Gamers Nexus , one can learn that the MSI Claw is hardly a retail success. The unit purchased for the purpose of the review was sitting on the shelf for a month, and the media were actually the first customers asking for this product.

The MSI Claw seriously needs an official price cut in all regions where it is being sold. The original MSRP never made much sense in comparison to Radeon 780M based Ryzen Z1 chips, which are indeed faster in gaming.
