GPU Shark 2.3 now available

If you are bored with the simplicity of GPU-Z, the very popular GPU information and monitoring tool, then maybe it is time to try something new. The GPU Shark is a very similar tool that offers a plethora of features, but it also has a more graphically pleasing user interface.
Unlike GPU-Z, the Shark will immediately tell you the exact name of the graphics card model. Developers take a good care of keeping the database up to date. Furthermore, you get the TDP information, clocks and temperature immediately after starting the app. One is also shown graphs for the most important metrics, and there is even a monitoring graph underneath.
Additionally, there are three tabs showing information about OpenGL, Vulkan and other stuff related to the GPU Shark tool. Here you can adjust the looks of the program, although options are limited.
The latest version released on April 30 adds fan speed graphs to the main window and mentioned the ability to adjust the design of the user interface. You can also drop an image on the screen and it will change the background.
There is also a fix for Intel Arc GPUs for GPU usage sensor. Moreover, did you know that GPU-Shark has a power meter? That’s a cool feature to have and check after longer gaming sessions.
GPU Shark v2.3.0.0 – 2024.04.30
- the speed of fans is now displayed with a bar.
- added two new setting parameters: background_image_filename and background_alpha.
- added settings.lua file to save settings. To reset settings, just delete this file.
- fixed the reading of GPU usage sensor for Intel Arc GPUs.
- updated the source code to remove the “number has no integer representation” error (it’s a Lua error when we try to display a floating point number as an integer…).
- updated with GeeXLab 0.59.0 libs
The GPU-Shark is a small tool that is offered with the installer or as a portable tool. The latter is a great alternative if you need to carry something around for testing.
