ASUS to launch new ROG Ally gaming handheld in black color later today

ASUS confirms our leak, there is a new ROG Ally coming.

The company announced that today the new ROG Ally will see the light, or maybe it already has. The company has seemingly increased its marketing efforts shortly after we revealed that a new version of the gaming handheld is coming. The device appears on a leaked Computex 2024 product launch schedule, but apparently, that list also covers products that will be announced earlier. The Next ROG Ally is one of such products.

There is nothing suggesting that the new console will carry the Ally 2 branding for now. The device will get a new shape it seems, and what is new is the black color scheme. The device was spotted in one of the recent photographs posted by ASUS ROG official account, which shows the device on a shelf among other white ROG Allys.

Judging from the photograph above, the outer design has not changed significantly. We can still see it has the same size screen and similar button layout, but the bottom bezel is now more rounded. One of the main concerns with the original device was its edgy design, which was not very ergonomic.

Gamers expect updates to the screen, fixes for the SD-card issues, and a larger battery. What the new Ally is not expected to have is a new APU. This is even more true considering ASUS’ announcement later today, and AMD’s Computex 2024 keynote planned for early June.
