AMD 7800X3D at $345

AMD preparing for Zen5 desktop CPUs by lowering the price of their best gaming CPU with Zen4 cores.

There’s a new price cut for the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, the 8-core Zen 4 CPU with 3D V-Cache. This CPU needs no introduction as it is currently topping the bestseller lists at nearly all retailers. Not only is it the fastest gaming CPU from AMD, but it is also considerably cheaper than Intel’s flagship Core i9 models, consumes less power, and it is way more stable.

At Newegg, Amazon, and B&H, the CPU is now available for $350. This model was recently available for $10 less through eBay, but that offer was limited and not reflected by other major retailers. Now three major retailers have the same price, it is reasonable to assume that this is an official price cut from AMD.

Next month, AMD is expected to unveil its next-gen desktop CPU series, known as Ryzen 9000, according to Gigabyte. This Zen 5-based series will use the same socket and should pressure retailers to lower the prices of existing CPUs. However, the exact release date for the next-gen Ryzen CPUs is still unclear, so it may take some time. Similar to the 7000 series, AMD is not expected to introduce the 3D V-Cache (X3D) models right away.
