Qualcomm Snapdragon powered laptops from Samsung, up to 22 hours of battery life
Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Book4 Edge laptops leaked ahead of launch.
Qualcomm is about to announce its new Snapdragon X Elite and Plus processor series based on ARM architecture. Simultaneously, Microsoft is putting great effort into making ARM architecture as compatible as possible on Windows devices. Next week, Microsoft will have a special event where the new features will be presented alongside the new Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6, both based on ARM architecture.
Meanwhile, other companies like ASUS and Samsung are working on their own products powered by Qualcomm processors. WinFuture has revealed Samsung’s first Galaxy laptops with ARM SoC onboard. These are the Snapdragon X Elite laptops from the Galaxy Book 4 Edge series, available in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes.

The Book 4 Edge 14 and Book 4 Edge 16 Pro feature a similar design with an Arctic Blue color scheme. The 16-inch version has a larger keyboard with a full numeric pad. Both laptops will feature Microsoft’s new Copilot key for easier access to the built-in assistant.
Leaked promotional materials confirm that the Book 4 Pro features the Snapdragon X Elite with 45 TOPS of AI performance. There is no mention of the X Plus version at this time.
The 16-inch version also comes with a 61.8 WH battery and is powered by a USB Type-C connector up to 65 watts. Samsung claims this is enough to offer 22 hours of battery life for local movie playback with 150 nits brightness and airplane mode on. However, using the laptop with a brighter screen will almost certainly result in shorter battery life.
According to the report, the Samsung Book4 Edge systems with Qualcomm SoC will cost upwards of 1,800 EUR. That’s hardly a justifiable price for an entirely new architecture. In fact, there is hardly a trace of any Qualcomm X-based laptop that costs less than 1,300 EUR which doesn’t seem encouraging for a newcomer in the Windows laptop business.
