AMD confirms “next generation” updates during Computex 2024 keynote
Dr. Lisa Su to discuss Zen5 architecture.

Although this may seem like an obvious update, AMD is now confirming that there will be a next-gen architecture at Computex. Back in February, TAITRA announced that Dr. Lisa Su (AMD CEO) will give the opening keynote right before the expo kicks off, but that announcement did not mention any specific topics.
AMD has now updated their website to list the focus for the keynote, and unsurprisingly, it’s all about AI and high performance. The keynote description refers to the “next generation of high-performance PC, data center, and AI solutions,” which indirectly confirms Zen5 architecture updates and updates to AMD XDNA AI accelerators.

AMD is expected to introduce both the desktop Granite Ridge series ( possibly called Ryzen 9000) and the Ryzen AI 100 series , known as Strix Point . Both products feature Zen5 architecture and will launch this year. In 2022, AMD made similar announcements at Computex, and the first AM5-based desktop CPUs were launched just three months later.
