AMD intros EPYC 4004 series
AM5 package and up to 16 Zen4 cores.

The EPYC 4004 series is officially here. AMD is introducing this new series specifically for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses (SMB) and hosting businesses. The EPYC 4004 joins an extensive lineup of Zen4-based EPYC processors, but it is the first EPYC to use the consumer AM5 socket.
The EPYC 4004 will offer up to 16 Zen4 cores and 32 threads. It is designed for single-socket operation only and will feature a maximum boost clock of up to 5.7 GHz. It supports DDR5-5200 memory with ECC support and a maximum capacity of 192GB. The I/O die hosts PCIe Gen5 and DDR5 controllers, as well as built-in RDNA2 graphics.

These new processors use the 40×40 LGA-1718 socket, known as AM5. AMD confirms that it even supports AM4 cooling solutions, which should significantly reduce the cost of installation. Additionally, it will operate within the same TDP range as the gaming Ryzen series, which is 65W to 170W.
