HWiNFO gets updates for Intel Battlemage, Celestial and Melville Sound

Battlemage and Celestial in the first software updates

HWiNFO development team appears to be aware of the Intel’s next-gen GPU hardware.

Their software will soon receive updates to support several upcoming Intel GPU architectures. The most looked forward to is Battlemage , a next-gen discrete gaming GPU series expected to hit the market by the end of this year (or shortly after).

Although Intel has not officially announced these architectures, HWiNFO software is being updated to support new GPUs, suggesting that engineering samples might already be available to OEMs for internal testing. This follows the addition of preliminary support late last year, with the upcoming update focusing on new models.

Interestingly, the changelog also mentions Melville Sound and Celestial , next-gen GPU architectures for data centers and gaming, respectively. This is also the first time Melville Sound is being added, which is the next-gen data center product announced after Intel scrapped plans for Rialto Bridge, the successor to Ponte Vecchio. Intel clearly has a busy roadmap, but some of these GPUs may not arrive until next year.

While the term “models” is used, it could also refer to different PCI Device IDs disclosed to developers. Either way, it appears that new information become available to the developers who spared no time in adding them to their software.
