Radeon RX 7600M XT up to 120W with new external GPU solution
The new company is set to launch its first eGPU with OCuLink.
The market for eGPU solutions is becoming increasingly competitive, with more interesting options available thanks to various connection technologies and features that extend beyond standard eGPUs.
BoostR is launching a new external GPU solution with specs similar to its competitors. What sets this product apart is its relatively low price of $499 . This was revealed by ETAPrime who received a unit for testing. Worth noting that this is an early bird price, not the final retail that will almost certainly be higher.
The BoostR features the Radeon RX 7600M XT GPU, the highest configuration of the RDNA3-based Navi 33 GPU for laptops. While this graphics card isn’t very popular among laptop makers, it is a top choice for many eGPU vendors, with BoostR being the latest addition.

Like the recently announced AYANEO AG01 and the ONEXGPU released last year, the BoostR is not just an external GPU but also a docking station that adds more ports, display connectors, and even an M.2 SSD slot. In total, there are four display connectors available (dual DP 2.0 and dual HDMI 2.1).
BoostR is equipped with patented vapor chamber cooling and supports a default 100W GPU TGP. It also features a button to increase TGP to 120W, the highest power setting for this GPU within AMD’s official specs.

As a principle, we do not encourage preordering untested hardware. In the case of BoostR, there is a review from ETAPrime, so you may want to check this before committing any money. The Radeon RX 7600M XT graphics have been around for a while, so performance should be surprising. Also worth adding that the review unit did not come with the OCuLink cable, and that typically increases the cost.
