Not X770 but X870
Benchlife reports that AMD made an interesting change for its upcoming AM5 motherboard lineup.

Just like Intel, AMD is gearing up to launch its new desktop CPU series codenamed Granite Ridge. The exact name for the Ryzen series is yet to be confirmed, but Gigabyte has mentioned in a press release that the new series might be called Ryzen 9000. However, given the rumors about numerous changes for the Strix Point (mobile Zen 5 platform) naming, nothing is certain at this point.
Whatever the name of the CPU series will be, AMD has reportedly chosen the 800 series for its new chipsets. This means that AMD will be skipping the 700 series entirely, and the successor to X670 would be X870. In other words, AMD and Intel will both launch 800-series motherboards, but each will feature entirely different sockets and support for different processors.
It is clear that we can expect various motherboard manufacturers to showcase AMD and Intel 800 series chipset motherboards at Computex 2024. It has been confirmed that the chipset paired with AMD Ryzen 9000 will be called the 800 series, similar to Intel’s naming. However, some manufacturers are still focusing on first-generation AM5 socket motherboards, such as GIGABYTE, which is set to release the B650E AORUS PRO X USB4.

The media received a new B650E AORUS PRO X USB4 motherboard, which, according to the publication, matches the specs of the AMD X870 motherboards. It features some interesting ideas, such as the reinforced PCIe slot that supports up to 58 kg.
Regarding AMD’s recent name changes, the company is also working on an entirely new naming schema for its mobile series. The Ryzen 9050 series, codenamed Strix Point, will reportedly launch as the Ryzen AI 300 series. Clearly, AMD is doing a lot of restructuring at the moment, and the outcome may be very surprising.
