AMD Ryzen 9000 series in July

New desktop CPUs next month.

AMD’s next-generation desktop CPU series is set to launch next month. We received this information from our sources yesterday, and can now confirm it through a leak. The image above was shared by a leaker yesterday but was quickly taken down. We are respecting their request to remain unnamed.

The slide reveals two Ryzen 9 processors: the 9950X and 9900X, both featuring Zen5 cores and confirmed for a July 2024 release. While the slide had its specs removed, other leakers have posted images confirming the full specifications. This slide is a combination of two slides and lists all of the upcoming “Granite Ridge” processors:

AMD is set to introduce four SKUs, featuring 16, 12, 8 and 6 cores respectively. As we explained in the previous report, there are minor changes to the clocks compared to Zen4 series, however 3 out of 4 parts now have lower TDP (by 50 to 40 watts). That alone is an interesting detail that will surely be explained by AMD during the official keynote on Computex.

Along with the Ryzen 9000 series, AMD is also set to launch its new X870 and B850 motherboards featuring the same AM5 socket. Thus far we have no information about AMD’s new motherboard unveil at Computex, but since Intel Z890 series will be presented there, it is very likley that AMD will follow suit and greenlight the showcase too.
