Intel unveils Rocket Lake-S
Geeknetic has leaked information on Rocket Lake-S, the upcoming 11th Gen Core series. Intel has allegedly officially announced its 11th Gen Core Rocket Lake-S series during CES 2021 press briefing, according to screenshots obtained by Geeknetic from the said presentation.
Intel has reaffirmed that the 11th Gen Core series features 20 PCIe 4.0 lanes off the CPU, which is 4 lanes more than the current 10th Gen Core series known as Comet Lake-S. The new CPUs are based on Cypress Cove core architecture which is now confirmed to top at 8 cores. Intel released a slide featuring a Rocket Lake-S die shot, which clearly has 8 compute cores. The upcoming CPUs feature built-in next-gen Xe Graphics.
Intel has demoed its new Rocket Lake-S Core i9-11900K against AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-core CPU. According to the screenshots published by Geeknetic, Intel CPU appears to be faster in both gaming scenarios. The system has been paired with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card, however, it is not stated if the system had Resizable BAR enabled. We have already confirmed that this technology has been enabled for the mobile Tiger Lake-H CPUs with collaboration with NVIDIA .
