“Cheaters monitor”: AI-powered MEG 4K OLED presented at Computex
Gamers, take notice: your opponent might now be cheating with a monitor.

MAG, MPG, and MEG—those brand names can be confusing, especially when it comes to MSI OLED monitors. The company developed three nearly identical-looking monitors in each of these series, each offering different features but seemingly the same panel.
MSI has already launched the MEG and MPG monitors a few weeks ago, and those are relatively popular choices given the pricing of the MAG monitor ($899). However, this price comes with a lack of software updates, which, as demonstrated with the MPG series, can be useful and actually bring new features over time. It is no doubt better to pick up the $50 more expensive MPG version. But there is a third option, which costs… almost twice as much.
The MAG version is a different beast altogether. While it has the same 31.5″ OLED panel with 4K resolution and 240Hz refresh rate, it offers support for DisplayPort 2.1 and includes an AI assistant.

Gaming monitors with built-in crosshairs have been around for many years, but with the hype around artificial intelligence, MSI had to go one step further. Their latest flagship MEG monitor features “AI Skysight” technology, an AI-powered assistant that monitors health bars and the mini-map, displaying indicators on the screen in some games in real-time.
At CES 2024, where this monitor was first presented, it was shown working with games like League of Legends. MSI says the monitor will receive firmware updates to support other games, but it is unclear how easy the update process will be and how many games will be supported. Another confirmed game is Counter-Strike 2. The MEG OLED is already two months behind the MPG/MAG models, although it was among the first to be showcased in January.
Another feature of the MEG version has a Spectrum Bar, which is built-in RGB lighting that can synchronize with other devices. According to reports, the MEG monitor may cost upwards of $1,700, a significant increase over the MPG monitor, which already features the same panel and also supports firmware updates.
