SIGGRAPH 2024 officially kicks off on July 28. The name stands for “Special Interest Group on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques” and is the name of an annual conference for people interested in computer graphics, including academics, developers, and graphics companies like NVIDIA.

This year’s SIGGRAPH celebrates its 50th anniversary (the first conference took place in 1974), and among the four announced keynote speakers is NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang.

According to the announcement, Jensen’s keynote will focus on AI and accelerated computing. The keynote’s description is similar to of his Computex keynote, which likely means no new consumer (gaming) GPUs will be mentioned. However, GPU vendors sometimes announce new graphics cards either at or closely following the event. These are usually professional GPUs for workstations and visualizations (e.g., RTX/Quadro).

Jensen will speak about the impact of robotics and AI in industrial digitization, illustrating how industry sectors are adopting autonomous operations and building city-scale digital twins to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
