That’s a first: Colorful releases first episode of space cats’ adventures promoting its MEOW GPUs

GPU marketing at a new level

ColorFire MEOW Squad animation promotes MEOW GPUs

Colorful (Colorfire) has broken new ground in graphics card promotion with their latest project: a four-minute animated episode starring two space cats, Bobi and A+, as they embark on an adventurous quest. This marks the first time a graphics card manufacturer has taken the step into creating such “a lengthy” cartoon to promote their products.

The Chinese company introduced its MEOW GPUs alongside the RTX 40 series last year, featuring two distinctive models. MEOW ORANGE, highlighted by a color scheme of white and orange, is represented by Bobi cat, while MEOW PURPLE, featuring black and purple aesthetics, is guarded by A+, a ninja cat on a special mission.

In the animated series, Bobi and A+ aim to return to Earth but face a setback due to their spaceship’s lack of power. A+ is then dispatched on a smaller mission to locate the missing components, utilizing his ninja skills and memory (literally PC memory) to uncover a hidden gem—a MEOW graphics card, the vital last piece needed for their new spacecraft.

Colorful has hinted that this episode is just the beginning, teasing a potential series to follow. While MEOW graphics cards (and other components in the series) are definitely aimed at a niche market, the extent to which the company has gone to promote them is unusual in my experience. I’m definitely looking forward to the new episode and hope this initiative will kick-start a trend and bring a refreshing change to the currently dull GPU marketing landscape.
