The X Silent Edge Platinum 850 preorders now live, come with free gaming monitor

Cooler Master is taking preorders for its next generation fanless power supply.

The first model in the series is the 850W version, so definitely not the highest wattage (Cooler Master is also making a 1100W unit). This PSU has been teased by Cooler Master for many months, and it is quite possibly one of the most interesting supplies from the company currently.

The X Silent Edge Platinum is a fully modular design with zero fans. This means that the product will not generate any sound from mechanical components, but it won’t be completely silent (some components may and probably still generate noises). However, the large heatsinks and heatpipes integrated into the Thermal Mold in the PSU cover will do their best to dissipate heat.

The PSU is an ATX 3.1 design, which means it supports the latest standards such as the 12V-2×6 power connection for high-power GPUs. This is an improved version of the 16-pin power cable.

The PSU has a 15-year warranty and is listed at $399.99 (discounted from $549.99). The ‘early-bird’ preorder benefits include a Cooler Master CM27 CFX 27-inch gaming monitor, a 24-pin power angled adapter, and an M.2 SSD thermal pad. These are available only during the preorder period and will not be given out later. Worth noting that the monitor itself is worth $249.

However, as always, we do not recommend making any preorders for hardware that hasn’t been independently tested. Additionally, you can find 850W PSUs at much lower prices, and most of them have built-in fan-stop features.
