We definitely do not recommend buying this graphics card, even at the new price. The MTT GPU is far from a perfect modern gaming card. It uses a lot of power and offers entry-level performance for gaming. The new promotional price is temporary, and while it’s better than when the card first came out, it still has the same issues we described earlier.
The first generation of Moore Threads GPUs, namely the MTT S80 and MTT S70, are interesting from an architectural standpoint. The company has made massive progress in GPU development, resulting in significant, often triple-digit performance updates over time.
The MTT S80 is the flagship card based on the MUSA architecture, featuring up to 4096 cores, a 1.8 GHz clock, and a total FP32 throughput of 14.4 TFLOPs. The last GPU driver introduces support for 21 new games, which sounds impressive, but the full count of fully supported games now stands at just 42, that’s a major downside of this graphics card for sure.

The interesting news is that the card is now listed at 1299 RMB, which is approximately $178. This is not even the lowest price it has ever been listed at ($164), but it is significantly cheaper than at launch (approximately $350).

The only reason anyone might consider this card is its large 16GB GDDR6 VRAM and AV1 decoding capability. It is also technically the only gaming GPU on the market that supports the PCIe Gen5 x16 interface, a feature not even available with the Radeon RX 7000 and GeForce RTX 40 series. Unfortunately, this does not yield any performance advantages in this case.
