AMD Zen5 launch dates ‘teased’ by retailers
Release dates confirmed?

AMD has not given any indication when the new Ryzen CPUs will be available, only confirming it will be next month. However, those looking for new AMD products may discover listings through various retailers, some of which report availability dates.
As mentioned yesterday , the Ryzen 9000 series is now listed by large US retailer B&H and will apparently be available for ‘preorder’ on July 31 . This wording may be incorrect, since AMD promised a July launch (so hard release date). However, this suggests that the desktop update might be scheduled for the last day of the month.
Additionally, BestBuy has a new launch date for one of the ASUS laptops equipped with the Ryzen AI 300 CPU. This product is supposedly launching on July 15 , two weeks before the desktop update.

AMD Zen5 launch dates
- (Laptop) AMD Ryzen AI 300 “Strix Point” : July 15, 2024
- (Desktop) AMD Ryzen 9000 “Granite Ridge” : July 31, 2024
AMD claimed as many as 100 design wins featuring Ryzen AI processors, so the ASUS laptop could be among the first wave of products. Only a limited number of designs were introduced at Computex, so the remaining number likely includes Mini-PCs and possibly handhelds. Definitely something to look forward to.
What is clear though is that both AMD Zen5 series are launching before Intel’s next-gen client series featuring Lion Cove/Skymont CPU architectures, expected in Q3 for mobile and Q4 for desktop.
